The work often starts with a camera but may wind up as an image unrecognizable as a photograph. I've been walking the line between painting and photography for a while now. The materials associated with photography. (a light sensitive surface), are explored as if it were just discovered on the moon. I love the magic of photography and I am interested in making work that contains the power and sensations of my initial experience with it a time and place before digitial, where I now spend most of the winter months. . With less time in the darkroom, my studio is more expansive. By April, when the weather is more friendly to working outdoors, I move to my summer studio where I can safely use darkroom chemistry to make chemigrams in broad daylight.
